Consolidated Graphics was featured in Printing Impressions June issue for their purchase of 10 HP Indigo 10000 digital presses!

CGX Stuffs drupa Shopping Cart, Buying 10 HP Indigos
HOUSTON– Consolidated Graphics (CGX), which boasts one of the largest integrated digital printing footprints in North America, has purchased 10 HP Indigo 10000 digital presses.
HP and CGX officials disclosed the purchase agreement during drupa, where HP was showing the HP indigo 10000 model press– the first B2-format (29.5″x20.9″) sheetfed HP Indigo solution–publicly for the first time. CGX will begin installing the digital presses at locations throughout its 70-company network when the product line becomes available in early 2013.
In addition, Nies/Artcraft, a CGX company specializing in targeted direct marketing services will be a beta user for the HP Indigo 10000, receiving an early production unit later this year.
CGX primarily will use the Indigo presses for their direct marketing and other commercial printing work, as well as folding carton production.
In other news, CGX announced formation of a new joint venture with Asian printer Yamagata Corp. to better seve its multinatinal corporation customer base.
CGX has held an alliance with Yamagata since 2008 and recently acquired a 51% ownership stake in the joint venture’s Gero, Japan, operation. CGX Yamagata Japan will act as a commerce portal to Asia for its US-based clients.
